Eivissa Fresh Flavours (EFF®) Records is proud to present its latest release, EFF018: “JUST 49 EP”, a special collaboration between Christian Montoya and Alex Grosu. This Exclusive Original Mix is a deeply personal sonic journey by Christian Montoya, standing at the threshold of 50 years old, celebrating half a century of life with introspection and gratitude. “This track was born when I understood that time is a gift and that each year lifts us higher.”
ABOUT THE TRACK An auditory document of personal reflection that takes shape on an organic foundation, featuring synthesizer sounds with healing frequencies, vocal arrangements and Alex Grosu’s saxophone. During his residency at Barracuda Rooftop, Chris connected with Alex, a saxophonist, guitarist and singer with whom he has worked for years, finding the inspiration to create a special track for the magical moment of sunset. The result is a fusion of emotional narrative, vocals, saxophone and organic rhythms that invite you to close your eyes and rise.
OLD SCHOOL MANIFESTO In a world saturated with AI, we remain faithful to the old school: sounds created, played and sung by humans. Every saxophone note, every vocal whisper and every rhythm has been performed in real time by flesh-and-blood artists, preserving the authentic essence of organic electronic music.
VOCAL HOOK: “IT’S JUST 49” At the heart of the track, a climax of spoken word builds from intimate whispers to a declaration of liberation. It culminates in the mantra: “Close your eyes and hear the sound, let it go, we’re never bound. The way goes on, it’s all right, rising high, it’s just 49!” This line serves as an emotional anchor, transforming the personal story into a universal affirmation for the listener.

ARTWORK & LABEL The artwork designed by Dr. LEUMAN remains faithful to the iconic water drop as the predominant element, the same symbol that appears in the Eivissa Fresh Flavours Records logo and on all the label’s covers. The turquoise drop, with the number “49” inside, reflects the purity, the fluidity of time and the organic essence of the project.
